A University Foundation Programme (UFP), also known as the International Foundation programme, is offered by most UK Universities with the exception of Oxford, Cambridge, London School of Economics (LSE) and Imperial College. The UFP is also offered by several independent boarding schools that exist across UK cities including Cambridge, Canterbury, Bath, Oxford and London. The University Foundation Programme allows international students, who do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry into Year 1 of a UK undergraduate degree course, to enroll and progress following the successful completion of their programme. The course structure of a Foundation programme will vary from one academic institution to another.

ApplyThe International Year One programme is an excellent opportunity for international students who have completed 1-2 years of tertiary education (after obtaining their high school degree excluding a high school degree equivalent to A Level or IB) and who wish to pursue a UK University degree in a reputable University. The International Year One is a programme offered in multiple UK Universities and has been specifically designed for international students whose level of English is significantly inferior to IELTS level 6.5. The aim of the IY1 is to fully prepare students for joining the second year of their chosen undergraduate degree, so that they can go on to achieve success at university, in their career and in the world. Students will study a combination of core and subject-specific modules that focus on teaching them English language, study skills, employability and academic areas most relevant to their chosen degree at their chosen university.

ApplyThe Pre-Master programme has been designed for international students who have graduated with an undergraduate degree course that is not considered equivalent to a UK university degree. Through the Pre-Master route, students gain access to the master degree course of their choice. Whilst studying their pre-master course, students develop high-level academic English and study skills required by masters students. Well-prepared pre-master students have the confidence to take part in presentations, seminars and thrive academically at masters level. The pre-master course is also applicable to students who have obtained an undergraduate degree in one field and choose to shift their career to an alternative one.
